BGM Pricing

Character themes, loop-able background music for vTubers etc.

Base price of $100 per 0:30s - 1:00m of music.

  • Prices are in USD.

  • Price varies on complexity of the BGM (For example a solo instrument BGM will cost less than a full orchestra.)

  • A quote will be provided after discussing the project(s) style, mood and length. Please see the “process” page for more details.

  • For example you might expect a loop-able solo piano piece of 1:30 minutes to be around $150 - $250 while a fully orchestrated piece might be between $400 - $500, or a small band (piano, saxophone, drums, guitar, bass) to be around $250 - $350.

What will you receive?

  • Two versions of the BGM. One that is loop-able and the other with a complete finished ending.

  • .WAV and .MP3 for each version in full quality mixed and mastered in stereo 16bit - 48kHz.

What is my process?

Preparation

Please tell me about yourself and the type of music along with examples that you wish to portray. We will engage in sharing music, talking about style, mood and themes and I will try our best to narrow down what you wish to achieve before starting to work on the commission. Please feel free provide whatever material (images, videos, music) you feel is relevant in helping me produce the sound you are going after. This will help a lot!

After we have discussed and approved on the projects style, mood and length I will provide a quote for you. If you agree and approve I will email an invoice to you and from there a 50% upfront payment (not refundable) is needed before starting on the commission.

By agreeing to pay, you have also agreed to my terms and conditions.

Stage 1

(Sketching the foundations)

After starting I will provide you a demo or sketch of what I have been working on. Please tell me if this is going in the right direction. Feedback is greatly appreciated and if there is anything specific you would like please let me know! (eg “at this 10s I don’t like this sound or I would love a cute sound here”). Please also note that because this is a sketch it will sound unfinished and vastly different from the final product. I hope to achieve the foundations of what you are looking for in this step.

Stage 2

(Filling out the flesh)

After your feedback and approval I will continue to work towards a final product fleshing out the parts (instrumentations, melody, structure etc.) and send it to you once again for approval and feedback. I will continue to revise your feedback and work towards close to a final product. This stage usually takes the longest and requires going back and forth with you.

Stage 3

(Cleaning and polishing)

Hopefully everything is going great so far! The last in the process is for me to polish and mix and master it so that It can be delivered at the highest quality to be played on your platform. Once you are content with it I will remove the sound watermark and I will email you another invoice requiring the remaining 50% of the quote. After the payment is received I will deliver the final product(s) through an email/link.

Important!

  • Demos and examples will be a watermarked with a “robotic hello!” sound.

  • Please do not download and share any demos, examples and works in progress unless given permission.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • I have the right to refuse a commission if I feel I can not sufficiently complete and achieve what you request due to the nature of the work or any other external reasons. I will try my best to be as versatile as I can be but I will also be honest If I can not produce a work that you are looking for. Thank you for understanding!

  • I require a 50% upfront payment before starting your commission (not refundable) and the remaining 50% upon delivery of the final product.

  • Please do not download and share any demos or examples unless given permission from me.

  • A maximum of five major revisions is granted in the process. Major revisions may include extending the length, structure and overall mood and style. If anymore revisions are desired it will be a rate of $30 USD per revision.

  • After the final product is delivered you gain the licence to use it unlimited times on your platform without copyright claims under legal use. However I still retain the rights and ownership, including uploading and sharing my work on my portfolio/website/social media for the purpose of showcasing my work. If you prefer for me to not use your name for my portfolio please let me know!

  • You are not allowed to rebrand and resell the product(s).

  • If you need to edit the product(s) for another use please ask for permission.

  • If in any circumstances that I myself am not able to complete the required work in the timeframe, a full refund is eligible.

  • Once work has started, payment is non-refundable unless otherwise specified.

  • Please remember to provide a credit me whenever possible as “Michael Dang” and a link to my website “michaeldangmusic.com”

  • Please remember everything can be discussed and I am open to working closely with you to make sure you are content with with my services.
